Your Responsibilities
These terms and conditions govern the business relationship between you, the pet owner (referred to as "the customer"), and Daedalus Dog Adventures, the service provider. By obtaining our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. These terms apply to all of Daedalus Dog Adventures' services unless a different written agreement is made or a legal requirement overrides them.
Your Responsibilities
- Accurate Information: We rely on you to provide accurate information about your pet's behavior, health, and needs.
- Pet's Health: You must ensure your pet is healthy, free from infectious diseases and parasites, and has up-to-date vaccinations. For dogs, the standard combination vaccination is mandatory and must be repeated annually. You must present the vaccination record when dropping off your dog for holiday care. We also recommend that you treat your pet for ticks and fleas.
- Pet's Behavior: You must inform us of any special circumstances or behavioral issues, such as aggression, a tendency to run away, a strong hunting instinct, or if a dog is in heat.
- Supplies: You are responsible for providing enough food and necessary care supplies for the entire service period. Any additional expenses for supplies will be charged to you.
- Punctuality: Please notify us if you will be late for a scheduled meeting.
- Liability Insurance: If you own a dog, you must have liability insurance for the animal.
Our Commitments
- Pet Care: We promise to treat your pet according to its species, behavior, and care needs, and to follow your instructions. We will also take your pet to the vet if it gets sick or injured, and we'll inform you of any significant incidents.
- Home Security: If our service includes access to your home, we will treat your property with the utmost care. We will not tell anyone that you are away, and we will not duplicate your keys or give them to anyone not involved in the service. Your house key will be stored securely and returned at your request.
Fees and Payments
- Cost Estimates: Our cost estimates are based on projections and are not a final price. Any services that go beyond the original agreement will be billed based on the actual time required at our standard hourly rate or as otherwise advertised on the Services webpage.
- Invoices: Invoices for fees and expenses are due within 4 days, payable without deductions for taxes or other charges. We may ask for an advance payment or issue interim invoices for services already provided or for services that require upfront payment. We can also suspend further services until these invoices are paid in full.
- Holiday/Overnight Care: Holiday/Overnight care must be paid for in advance, before the service begins. The drop-off and pick-up days are each charged as a full day.
- Veterinary Costs: You agree to cover all veterinary costs for any treatment we deem necessary for your pet during its care. We will try to contact you before seeking veterinary treatment or euthanasia.
Cancellations and Terminations
- Binding Appointments: Appointments are considered binding once they are confirmed verbally or in writing.
- Cancellations:
- Dog walking services: You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel later than that, or if you miss the appointment without prior notice, you will be charged 100% of the fee.
- Holiday/Overnight care: You must cancel immediately if you can't make the booking. Once you have booked care and I have accepted, cancellation fees are as follows:
- More than 4 weeks in advance: no charge.
- 4 to 2 weeks in advance: 50% of the invoice total.
- Less than 2 weeks in advance: 100% of the invoice total.
- Early Pick-up: If you pick up your pet before the agreed-upon end of the care period, no refund will be issued.
- Unclaimed Pet: If you fail to pick up your pet within three days after the end of the care period, we are authorized to re-home the animal. You will be responsible for any resulting costs.
Liability
- We are not liable for any damages unless they are a result of our gross negligence or intent. Our liability is limited to the fee for the specific service affected.
- Your Liability: You are required to have liability insurance for your pet, and are responsible for any damage your pet causes to people, property, or other animals. This includes costs for injuries your own pet sustains due to its own fault. You are also liable for any costs resulting from another animal getting infected because you concealed or were unaware of your pet's illness. The same applies if you conceal or are unaware of allergies, other limitations, or your pet's misbehavior.
- Off-Leash Activities: If you consent to your dog being off-leash, you acknowledge the risks involved. We are not liable if your dog runs away or for any resulting damage.
- Lost Pet: While we are not liable for any damages if your pet runs away, we will take all necessary steps to find it, such as notifying the police and animal shelters.
